All of our assessments are provided at no cost. We will never add to the financial strain of someone already in need. Our role is to deliver unbiased clarity — even when the findings aren’t always what someone hopes to hear — so the vulnerable can take the right next steps.
Fire Remediation Dispute – Spokane, WA
Following a small house fire caused by a lithium battery that ignited a couple of chairs and left burn marks on the kitchen flooring, a restoration company escalated the scope of work dramatically. Despite the limited fire damage, the company claimed widespread smoke contamination that required gutting the kitchen, removing appliances and furniture they deemed “unsalvageable,” and even cited asbestos concerns without ever providing supporting documentation when asked by the insurer. Additional issues arose when toilets were broken and unsealed during the work.
For an elderly homeowner on oxygen, the company used her health status to argue the house was uninhabitable, further justifying expanded costs. The insurer had already paid substantial sums, but the company continued to send “final notices,” impose questionable charges, and eventually threatened foreclosure on the home.
IronDog stepped in to help the family by:
